Noor Xarmina to represent Pakistan at Miss Universe pageant
Pakistani actor and advocate aims to elevate her nation's profile at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant.
UAE: In a triumphant announcement streamed on the official Miss Universe YouTube channel, Pakistani actor and venture capitalist Noor Xarmina has clinched the title of ‘Miss Universe Pakistan 2024.’
The 29-year-old, originally from Islamabad and recently returned to Pakistan, will now proudly represent her country at the upcoming 73rd Miss Universe pageant in November.
Expressing her aspirations in a video shared on Instagram, Xarmina articulated her vision for positive change in Pakistan. "I want to be an ambassador for my country on the global stage," she declared passionately. "Pakistan deserves more recognition internationally across various fields, and I aim to contribute to enhancing our representation."
Highlighting her dual commitment to empowering women, Xarmina emphasized the need for strong female leadership in Pakistan. "I want to inspire and empower women in Pakistan to become catalysts for positive societal change," she affirmed.
Pakistani Information Minister Ataullah Tarar responded to queries regarding the support for Xarmina's international endeavor, highlighting the potential impact of her representation on Pakistan's global image. "If she has contributed positively to Pakistan's soft image and development, her achievements should be acknowledged and supported," Tarar stated during a press briefing in Islamabad.
The Miss Universe Pakistan franchise, organized by Dubai-based Yugen Group, aims to spotlight Pakistani talent on the global stage. Last year, Erica Robin made history as the first Pakistani woman to win the coveted title, marking a milestone in the representation of Muslim-majority Pakistan at international beauty pageants.
